I'm still in the States for a while, but am looking for good Swedish resources for an eventual move. Looks like I've found a great one so far! Thank you for making it possible! -Rochelle

Always nice to see new members here, especially from Colorado. I spent some of my happiest adult life (before meeting my Swedish husband) living in the mountains outside of Durango, CO and moved here from Albuquerque, NM. Hope you can find some useful information, and anything you don't see, but you want to know about, feel free to post.

My husband is from Sweden and we are also living here in Colorado about 60 miles north of Denver. I am new to this site and hoping learn a lot more about Sweden, the food, the language and the customs so that I can make our life here in the U.S. a little more Swedish.

I'm in Colorado, "cold weather training." We had a saying in Texas (where I'm originally from) "I wasn't born here, but I got here as soon as I could." I feel that applies pretty darn well to CO as well as Sweden When I was 15 I drove through CO and decided "I'm going to live here one day" and that was that. So, knowing that I'd leave for Sweden in a year, I got practice at suddenly packing up and moving to a "foreign country" ... plus having actually seen snow and ice will help in the transition from Texas to northern Sverige! But, I ramble. I'm in Colorado Springs right now. It's lovely.

I love Colorado myself and so does my husband. IF we had moved to the U.S., that's the state we would have chosed, either that or Oregon. I spent a year in a 2-room cabin without modern conveniences about 7,000 feet up in the Rockies down in the Durango-Cortez area and loved it, although those winter treks to the outhouse could be pretty brutal.
