I don't know if technically this should be here, but anybody who has access to eBay, take note. I just purchased an old cookbook called "Swedish Recipes, Old and New". It was published by the American Daughters of Sweden out of Chicago in the early 1950s, collecting recipes given to them by their immigrant mothers and grandmothers. Anders is thrilled and amused, since he says you don't see most of those recipes anymore in Sweden, but it's what's commonly called husmanskost (probably spelled wrong here), but it's Swedish comfort food. That good old artery-clogging, heart stopping food like mama used to make. I paid about $5.00 for the book and it's great. And the best part, it's in English, so you can make your SO all those foods he talks about that nobody makes anymore.

The book has been reprinted faithfully, it looks like, quite a few times through the years. I have a copy too, reprinted 1998, that is a copy of the 1955 edition - but it cost $13.50 - so you saved a bit, Carolyn!
Dont see an ISBN number on it, but this one was published by Project Cuisine Publishers in Chicago, in case anyone is interested.
