I listen to country music almost exclusivly, which gets me really weird looks from Swedish people. Since there isn't a market for modern country music here they don't understand that country music is a lot different from Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson. This weekend we are having a dinner party so I'm planning on playing country music in the background and seeing what they think about contemporary country.
I would list some of my favorites in the genre, but I wonder if anyone would even know who they are. Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn, Lonestar, Cheri Austin. . . .

We actually got into country AFTER moving to Sweden. Except for the Dixie Chicks, who I have loved for years. Our Mp3s now include:
Alan Jackson
Toby Keith
George Strait
George Jones
etc.
I like almost any kind of music. My favorite Swede is Tomas Ledin, and I really like Vonda Shepard (the one who sings on Ally McBeal) I went to a small concert by her in Chicago a few years ago and she is AWESOME.
