Well, first of all I would like to say great work!! to all of you ladies who have baked and cooked and worked so hard on making everything for this Christmas!!
For the Duffs it is going to be turkey, we have looked at some allready and are going to buy one some day soon. Also, on the 24th we weill be at home all day, cooking, eating and ejoying ourselves with our family, just taking it easy and having fun!
On the 25th hubby and I are planning on going to the movies and the next day we are away in Spain for two weeks!! Yaaay, our first trip in almost two years!!
Crankody, about your Mother in Law, dont give a fiddlers fart about what she says!! I understand that you want a Christmas that is something familiar to you and you should have it!! Your kids are Canadian too and they should have something Canadian that they can have from you, as they are both Swedes and Canadian, just as our kids will have something from each of hubby and myself!!
I think that you should just keep you head up high and serve what you want and if she doesnt like it she can think about how she would feel if she was the one who wanted to have something from her own traditions in someone elses country!! I think that she is just being silly!!
So, you go girl!!!

Sabiene--
It's easy to have the energy to bake when you don't have a job or anything. If I worked full time I know I wouldn't have the energy to do anything except a batch of chocolate chip cookies or something. Plus, I don't do them all at once. I've been making something every few days for the past couple of weeks and just freezing them. The first day I started I was way too ambitious and did three work intensive things and was totally exhausted by the middle of the day, but I learned my lesson.
All in all, being unemployed is pretty handy for getting things done.

Crankody read this it's taken from ParentNetSweden. www.parentnetsweden.com/Departments/surviving_jul.htm May I also suggest making up small menu size Julboard rules and place it at the table like rules 1) we all share the food 2) if there is a food item you don't enjoy keep on going there's more etc etc ;D
