I think I've seen that second list before. Probably came across it while I was pregnant and we were looking for names. I feel so sorry for those poor kids who have to live with those names!

My husband uses his middle name... I'd take Lennart over Sven, too! Besides, his father's name was also Sven. All of his kids use one of their 1-2 middle names. It's strange to me. I can remember maybe 2 or 3 people in my previous life (pre-Sweden) that did not use their first names and one is my mother.

I had never really thought about this before, but it does explain the confusion over my son's name (perhaps).
My fellow uses his middle name. Our son is called by his first name, Llywellyn. However I have noticed in the past two years that anywhere I have taken him for appointments or when talking to government agencies in regards to him, they all punch in his person number and then say "that would be Ibrahim" as if that is his name. I always correct them and say no he goes by his first name, not his middle name. But when we went to the dentist last year, she outright told me that Llywellyn was too hard of a name and she would call him Ibrahim instead. I outright told her that she would call him by his proper name. *laugh* So I have been assuming that it is just a reluctance to try and say Llywellyn that has been causing this. Perhaps though it is that using the middle name is so common they look at it first?

Kitty I think that your son`s name is very nice! Same as when we have a son (in the future) his name will be TRYFAN, and nothing else!!
