Right now I'm reading Tjock by Jenny Dahlberg and in english I've started The Man with the Golden Arm by Nelson Algren. I was just wondering who else has ever read this book, and are there any opinions?

Silas Marner
Vägen till Klockriket
and a couple others I can't remember right now.
I always have about 5 books going at the same time.

I'm reading manuals, I got a new computer today!!! And am trying to save it from my husband, who, bless his heart, always wants to go from point A to point Z without worrying about what goes in between. Makes me CRAZY

Maja,
I haven't read those. I recently got a book called, "The DaVinci Code". It came out recently in the US and is supposed to be good. It had received great reviews.
I haven't started it yet, but this will be my next book to read.

Anna I have heard that book is excellent! Haven't read it, though. I have list longer than my arm, and that book falls about 3/4 of the way down!

I'm a big fan of Wally Lamb. I really liked his first 2 books (She's Come Undone & I Know This Much is True), even though his endings always seem to be just a little too happy. Anyhow, he's written a new book about women he interviewed in prison and their stories. Supposed to be really interesting, so that's next on my list I think.

I just finished re-reading The Lovely Bones, which was super the 2nd time around, too. Beautiful writing and shiver-inducing.

"The Princes" by M.D. Molesworth, a study of the development of royal power and mystique, mostly dealing with the 18th century.

Is there still a book swap going on?
If so, I'd be up for some trading.
I have a variety of books that range from fiction, to biography, informative, to non-fiction. Most are in almost new condition.
We could exchange the book/s and then when we are done, mail it back to the owner.

I was wondering about this, and my question is, how much does it cost to ship books like that? Isn't it almost just as cheap to buy the paperback versions of books than to ship them around? If there's a benefit to book swapping, I'd be willing, even though I don't have the hugest selection of books here (but I do love the ones I have!)

I'm reading "White Teeth" by Zadie Smith. I started reading it over a month ago, got about 10 pages in, and haven't picked it up since. I haven't given up on it. I'm just busy with other things right now.

I don't know about the cost of shipping books around Sweden, but they don't have a book rate that I'm aware of. On the other hand, I've sent out pretty good sized packages to various forum members here and I didn't think the postage was a huge sum AND the stuff, almost without exception, seemed to get there within 24 hours. Say what you like about Posten, when I lived in Albuquerque, it could take 3 days for a letter, first-class, to get from one side of the city to another.

Is White Teeth good so far? I have seen that book at so many bookstores I was wondering how it was. It seems to be really popular. Everytime I hear the words "white teeth" I can't help but think of Ross from Friends with his bleached glow in the dark teeth. ;D
Carolyn, have you sent books within Sweden? I can't imagine that it would cost so much, right?
