My darling husband woke me at 3.30 this morning with an incredible anxiety attack, followed almost immediately by what seemed to me to be a stroke. 1-1-2 was called and responded within a very few minutes. It's been determined it wasn't a stroke, but a seizure, but why he had the seizure, since he has no history, is as yet undetermined. He's laying in hospital now, waiting for a battery of tests, and I walked home in the snow and can't sleep. I haven't even had him for 5 years, I'm so afraid of losing him.

Carolyn, I sent you an email early this morning. Now, late in the day, I figure an extra thought won't hurt, and there is strength in numbers. Thinking of you and Anders. --Steve

Thanks, everybody. He's home now, sleeping, and I have some pills he needs to take for the next 7 days and we have a remiss to a neurologist, who we will call tomorrow.
I can't tell you all how grateful I am to ALL of the medical personnel I dealt with today, from the EMTs in the ambulance to his doctors and the nurses. Everybody was so professional and kind, and took the time to explain some unfamiliar terms to me and remind me to keep breathing too. And also to know that all of this, ambulance in the night, semi-private room, tests, meds, doctors is going to cost a total of about $55.

Carolyn, I'm so sorry to hear about Anders. I know this is late, but I'm online for the first time today. We will keep you both in our prayers and wish him a speedy recovery. Make sure that you also take time to look after yourself as well. It is easy to forget about your own needs in these circumstances. Sending you lots of good vibrations from Nynäshamn. And Lambi sends one of her special "get well" licks for Anders (sher was quite taken with him when we met).

Carolyn, I'm sorry to hear this. I'm glad he's home now. Do they think it may have had something to do with him having had the flu recently?
Give Anders a big hug filled with all the positive energy going out from me and all the others here and at amerikanska. If there's anything I can do, just give me a ring.
Take care of yourself too Nancy

Hi Carolyn, I'm sorry to hear this. It must be very frightning for you I wish I knew the right words to calm you a bit. At least he's home with you now. I hope and pray he gets well soon At least the service from everyone was helpful. That is very good to hear.

I also sent an email, though a well wish here is in order too. I am so glad to hear that he is home, and doing better. That you were able to keep your cool in the situation is really admirable.

I can do that while things are happening, but once it's under control, THEN I fall apart. You should have seen the crying jags going on this morning after I got home alone.
