Hi Everyone!
Just thought I would let everyone know about this course that I signed up for. It's a beginner's ceramics course offered once a week on Thursdays from 9:30 -12:00. The best bit is that it's in English! The worst part is that it costs money to attend, since it's through the Folkuniversitetet. I'm hoping it will be worth the money to meet some new people and to make a bitchin' mug, something I've always wanted to do. ;D
I've been trying to find a course at Stockholm's University offered in English, but I'll I could find were Master's Level courses in Biology and Computer Science (BORING!). So, if anyone else has found any other courses in english, please mail me about them! (If you can't tell, I am bored out of my mind right now waiting for my SFI course to start.)
But here's the info-
Course number : 440713
Phone number to call (according to the sheet they sent me, sorry I lost the catalouge): 08-789 41 00
And e-mail: info.storsth@folkuniversitetet.se
It's located in their Täby campus, a bit of a trek for me but my mug is calling! ;D

Well, good luck, both with the mug and meeting people. I don't know of any courses in English around me, but I was sure hoping for one this semester in folk costume and it seems I'm out of luck! Maybe next time.

Annie, Why not check out Stockholm Academic Forum to see if there are any courses you'd like to attend. You'll see on ther index "Courses in English". Good luck with the ceramics course. I'm hopeless with arts and crafts, though I really admire those who can do it. I know that Jen sometimes gives classes in craftwork. You can contact her at Flirting with the Muse. She's a really nice, young and very creative American girl who lives in Söder. The last class was in Gamla Stan. I'll be in town on Thursday the 19th for fika with some Aussie friends if you'd like to join us. It's organised by the local Aussie expats, but we aren't "exclusive" and the more the merrier I always think. That will be from 2-4pm at Blå Porten on Djurgården. Look for the table with the Aussie flag on it and a lot of loud English speakers It's easy to get to, so if you want to come along, just PM me and I'll give you directions and my mobile number in case you get lost.

Hey guys, don't forget to check with your local ABF schools. Sometimes even if they don't offer a course when there's enough interest they'll get one going.
