I will ask here first, but if no one answers I'll try at that OTHER place lol
Anyway, I've gone to the websites and read as much as I could but I am still so very confused about what to do about filing my and my boyfriend's taxes this year. Please fill in the gaps for me:
FOR ME: My dad sent me my W-2 forms and I have my 1040EZ forms, I have them for both state and federal. I have not worked here in Sweden at all, so I have not had any income in Sweden last year.
I plan on filling out the forms as usual and sendin them in. Is that correct?
FOR MY BOYFRIEND: We got his W-2 forms as well. His legal residency ended soon after we left the States last year. He did not have a job in Sweden while he was a legal resident of the US. Therefore, he too only has US income to file. Can he also just use the regular 1040s for both state and fed like he did last year?
And in addition, can he put his foregn address in? I'm assuming he wouldn't be allowed to write in the address to my parents house since he's not legally allowed to live in in the US now. I ask becasue the area to write your address on the form seems to only be for within the US. I've tried reading many Q&As and I can't get my answers.
And one more thing. How did your SOs deal with the refund? I know banks here will not accept checks (unless you're willing to pay through the nose for it). Is it possible for him to DD into his Swedish bank account?
Hope someone here can help :-D
