I'm officially on a puppy list! I've been in correspondence (in Swedish yet) with some breeders in our landskap. They raise cairn terriers and one of their tiks (bitches) is preggers at the moment and due to deliver in April. They ain't cheap, folks, no dog seems to be in Sweden, but I will have the terrier I've always wanted, a little girl, and they are near-by and I can have my very own puppy (if I'm a suitable person, of course). I'm very excited. ;D

Well, maybe in about two years, your dad's terrier and mine could get together for a little rendezvous! I'm going for a female myself.

Well, our dog may be preggers. She learned how to open the door the last time she was in heat and was running around with the neighbor boy (a King Charles Spaniel) for a whole afternoon! I can't bring myself to take her to the vet and get her fixed when we don't know for sure if she is or isn't pregnant. But, what the heck are we going to do with the puppies?? Lillian already is a mix between a jämthund (husky-type) and a bassett hound. Mix that with a little King Charles Spaniel and I just don't know what to expect. So, there may be some pups to be had at a very reasonable price... perhaps even free.

My goodness, there's a combination to think about! I demand that photos be provided if the blessed event occurs!

Ohhh Carolyn I'm jealous. I'd love a dog but we've got so much going on this year that we just won't manage it. I'm hopeful that next year we'll get one though.

It doesn't seem so. It's been 8-9 weeks and she is wider on the back end, but not obviously pregnant. Nothing bulging or moving down there. So, I think we escaped this time. I hear that the cost of sterilization is about 3,000 kr, but we're going to have to bite the bullet. I don't want any more near misses!

Our dog just went crazy when the females went into heat & could NOT trust him out in the yard alone. How old is she.?

Mercedes' owners just contacted me today to let me know that she gave birth to 3 females and a male, so it looks pretty good that I'm going to be a new puppy mom in 10-12 weeks. Hurray!

Hi Carolyn, I missed this before. L-G asked me if you were getting a dog the other day and I said "Not that I know of". Shows you that a few brain cells were missing along with the cold I have been fighting. Congratulations! I read up a bit about the breed here and cracked up at the thought of the battle of wills ahead. And on another site I read: Perhaps we could make him/her a moderator. After the disappointment with the cat earlier this year, I really hope this works out for you.

We lived in close proximity for 18 months with a terrier blend in one place and 2 Staffordshire bull terriers (dumb as planks) in another place and Anders didn't have any allergy problems with them, for one thing. I get to keep it this time, because I'm paying for this puppy! Now it's just going to be hard to wait another 5 weeks to go and see the puppies, once they have their eyes open and are moving around a lot. I don't think they will release it to me until the end of May, though, because it's about 12 weeks they keep them, which is Okay. I will be in charge of the training. Mr. Push-Over isn't good at that sort of thing.
