I've been discussing with others what to do about this site. With over 200 "members", we only have about a dozen who are interested in posting anything like regularly and it becomes very frustrating trying to keep something going, as well as having someone working on getting the rest of the site up, if no more than 12 people are going to keep in touch. If we wanted to do that, we could just e-mail each other.
So does anybody out there really care if this site keeps going, besides 12 of us? Opinions, please.

I would miss coming here, but understand I guess I'll need to have a LJ to keep in touch with some of you ladies ... I would feel lost not being able to have a daily/weekly update from you all.

I know, you're one of the most faithful regulars, and I DO have your e-mail address as well. I'm going to try to be teaching myself Dreamweaver here and get my own website up as well.
But it seems that only a small handful of us really care or contribute anything here, and those of us that were left holding the bag when the moderator up and left just don't have enough computer knowledge at the moment to try to make this site what it once was and what it still could be, provided there was sufficient interest.

You ladies sound really busy with your lives, which is a good thing. The forums used to have helpful information and more frequent usage. Now it seems people have been helped and are able to move on, which is a good thing. Perhaps PS has served its purpose. LiveJournal, that Other Board (I've still never been there), and more easily available information on the internet are still out there for folks that need it. These boards helped lots of people, which is a good thing. It's understandable if you gals need to step away from this headache of work. PS was a wonderful resource for information and friends, without which I may never have met the 4 lovely ladies who live in my town (whom I am going to meet with again today, yay) but if it's more hassle than worth, by all means let it go. I'm just glad to get the chance to say Thank You before the curtain falls

I for one would be sad to see this site disappear. Whilst I hardly ever post I do check in daily to read new posts. Perhaps there are lots out there like me, who like visiting but don't make themselves heard ;D That's my tuppence worth!

I'm glad you've enjoyed visiting and that Vember has been able to find friends in her new home through this board.
I understand that to a lot of people, it's much more exciting to read about things like heartbreak and negative stuff. Look at how papers like The National Enquirer sell like hotcakes. But I've met and maintained friendships with some wonderful people here, and anybody that would like to take the time to send me a message here can get my e-mail address and my Live Journal name and we can still keep in touch.
By the way, Lisa, we're not moving to Stenungsund, so I'm still at my old place, phone number is the same and you should come on into town and we'll go out for pastries and coffee again.

I only have a minute right now. I apologize as I feel like I have droppped the ball. I started working on a new site this summer and right now am overwhelmed with the beginning of school. If there is an interest I have a start on a Tripod site and can work more when I have time. I know nothing however of Proboards. I apologize for not finishing what I started WHEN I started it. I can maybe find some time soon to get things rolling again???

I have really enjoyed this site since finding it but can understand if it's become a burden to keep up.
I would have loved to have been able to read the site content that hasn't been up for a while. I like the more positive attitude on this site but unfortunately there isn't enough people to always get the number of responses I'd like to see. The "other board" does have some useful information at times but with over 1800 members, you know you'll at least get a few responses. Their percentage of posters isn't really much better than here, as only 125 people have posted more than my 92 posts on that site.
If you decide to keep the site going and need help, let me know. I do know html, Front Page, COBOL (lol like anyone uses that anymore) . The next 75 days are going to be extremely hectic for me but after that, I'll be at my new home, jobless, "speechless," and with a lot of time on my hands. I love working with websites although most of mine have been a bit "far out." I'm available to type or do copy/paste or whatever. I'm kind of a wiz with computers, spreadsheets, whatever. Something to keep in mind.
I still have my e-mail address in here but am lousy when it comes to journals and Blogs.

Well, I do believe that something else will take the place of this. When it does, I want to have a domain name and get a much more professional site up as well. I know we still have lots of very good information to spread and this has been a great source for me of meeting some very intelligent, positive, nice folks over the years.
I'll keep your kind offer in mind and I need to get together with Debbie and Sabeine this fall sometime and work on sketching out more definite ideas as well.

We each put a lot of work into this site. Just because everyone is busy doesn't mean nobody cares any more. What's involved in keeping at least the message board up?

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my safe haven! I love coming here and checking up on everyone. This is one place one can safely come for positive pleasant input, understanding and plain old innocent fun!
I agree with Pam. Busy or not, we all check in sooner or later. I have been planning on getting to a computer class to learn this stuff, so I guess now is the time!
Of course, courses don't start until January, but tell us what is required and I'll figure out those basics.

I don't know what's involved with keeping this site up. I would love to see it restored with the articles and such that we had before, it was helpful and informative. I guess we could wait and see and just have the message board for now.
I looked into having a company manage the site but they were charging way too much to make it worthwhile.

I understand your frustration, Carolyn. It couldn't have been too much fun to put so much work into the site and then have Leslie desert ya'll completely like she did.
I think all of us are guilty for not keeping the site as active as we should, but I see that also as maybe a positive. It seems people here are pretty content with their lot, and with themselves (most importantly). Oh, we sometimes bitch about this and that, but rarely those nasty rants by those malcontents one sees *elsewhere*.
I, for one, appreciate the good work you've done, Carolyn, and support whatever decision you make.

Leslie did not abandon us. She did ALL the web design stuff and got the site up and running single handedly....and this is the second version of it. The others of us involved wrote articles and gathered information. We all had way more time then too. Les got overwhelmed. I got the DreamWeaver program so I could try and teach myself how to use it but it crashed my computer and I'm scared to install it again. Carolyn then got the DreamWeaver program and other site information and volunteered to take over. Nobody discussed closing the site with me. I don't see why we can't have the message board and leave the rest until someone has time and doesn't feel pressured into working on it.

I think we need to take a deep breath and take care of some of this conversation to a private level. This is starting to sound really negative!
