This is fun....however how can I tell when I get here if I have read the new posts yet.

It's not that I don't like reading all of everyone's meanderings again and again but......

To your left of the forum you are entering there is a button. It will be blue if there are new replies or new posts, but grey otherwise.

Once you get into that forum, new messages or new replies with have the word "new" in front of them!

There is no function that I know of to automatically take you to the first unread post in that thread. You will just have to scroll down.
