members only "get togethers"

Hi Leslie,

As I was posting in "Get togethers" today and thought about the discusstion on Privacy! My suggestion purely comes from protection of members here. One never knows who is lurking out there in cyber space ... even if you were to meet in a public place or a private home (in our case) it wouldn't take much to put 2 and 2 together.

I would like to hear what other members think of closing off "get togethers" to the public/visitors here? ... same set up as "get it out" I just would hate to hear about a few who were enjoying them selfs and something happened.

Yes, I have to say I agree with you, Natooke, especially about the get-togethers. We have a lot of people here too who sign up as members, but have never contributed anything, which is okay if you just want to read, but perhaps figure out some way, when those of us who are active and want to plan something, can swap information without totally leaving yourselves open.

When I did my Örebro get-together announcement, once people said they wanted to come and so forth, we switched to the message feature here for exchange of addresses, phone numbers, etc., which worked pretty well too.

The board is now only viewable to members, and can only be accessed by a password which I will send out to the regular posters of that board. Anyone else wantint the password will have to write to me to get it.
