Hi, all. My name is Dawna and some of you know me already. I moved from California to Stockholm in May 1999. Well, we own a house in Stockholm but we are not really there all that much. We own our own business and work in Asia most of the time. So, I am still only semi literate in Swedish (lazy, I know). My Swedish hubby is the best.
I am one of the older ones around here (49 and going strong). My darling Swedish SO is all of 33. Hello to all of you that I know from years gone by (Leslie and Carolyn to name a few). Thanks, Carolyn, for reminding me to log on here.

Hi, Kitty Sue. Glad to see you again. Nice to hear that I have been thought of..... awww. I still spend very little time in Stockholm but I certainly love it when I get to spend a few nights in our house.
Carolyn... I am actually in Australia now. That's another new country for me... I love new countries. But really miss our little ol Swedish villa.

Hello. Yes, Australia is interesting. My Swedish is getting a good workout while we are here. My father in law and his woman friend are here with us and neither of them speak English. My Swedish is improving daily since we have been traveling with them.
This is our last week in Australia, we are in Sydney now. We are headed back to Malaysia this weekend. Am not on line much with being on vacation this week in Sydney.
Hope everyone is doing well. Dawna

Hello Dawna,
I think you may be the same Dawna that I emailed with before I moved here to Sweden.
Didn't you used to have a place in Bandhagen in Sweden?
I am also from CA and at the time you lived in Bandhagen and your daughter was going to come for a visit for your wedding. At least I think you are the same one. Well, I am here in Sweden for 2.5 years. We moved from Bandhagen to Sundbyberg last July.
Are you in Australia now? I have been there once years ago when I was 14 years old. My dad had considered moving there with our family and was there on job interviews at various universities in Sydney and Melbourne. We spent a month in Australia in Townsville, Brisbane, The Grand Hayman Islands, Sydney and Melbourne. We spent most of the time in Sydney though house hunting. In the end we stayed in CA. Otherwise who knows, I might have had an aussie accent by now. ;D
take care.
Anna

Hi, Anna. Yes, I am that same Dawna. We have bought a house in Örby now. I have just returned from Australia to Malaysia. We will be here two weeks before we head to China for 2 weeks. Then home to Sweden for 2 weeks.
My father in law and his woman friend traveled with us in Australia and I got lots of Swedish practice in since they do not speak English. They say I am doing very well and I really feel better about my Swedish after spending 2 weeks using it constantly. Hurrah.
Glad to hear that things are going well for you in Sweden, Anna.

We are in Kuala Lumpur when we are working in Malaysia. I have made lots of friends here so it is an easy country for me to spend time in. In China we are currently in both Dahlian and Beijing. When we are home (I know that is not very often) we are happily in our house, entertaining and trying to remodel.

May I ask what you are working with? Is it computers?

You guessed it. We work with computers and SAP software. We have been so lucky to work steadily in the weak economy and to have traveled the world... but, I miss my home in Stockholm alot sometimes.
