Hi, I'm In the USA, Florida. I am moving to Sweden in the spring. Just waiting for my residence permit. I sent the papers in a month ago. Norrbottens, Luleå is where my S.O. is waiting. I just returned from Sweden in Nov. so now the waiting time.

You're lucky in a way to be moving so far north. I don't think the processing time out of Norrbotten is anywhere near as long as it is in, say, Stockholm, although that's going to be one heck of a change from Florida. Lucky you, starting out in the spring, which will give you time to adapt before the next winter. Good luck and a wish for a fast processing of permit!

Good Morning and Merry Christmas. I have been in Sweden in the spring, Summer, Fall Winter.......Sweden is a beautiful country. It is good to hear that maybe my processing time may be shorter in Northern Sweden. I can only hope. In the mean time I'm in limbo.....but getting things in order and staying busy. Have a wonderful day today.......

Solig.
Hope everything goes swiftly for you. This is my third Christmas in Sweden. I live way south in Skåne and come from much further north in the US (Illinois).
The waiting for the permit is the hardest. Sometimes I think when you are older as we are we have a little more patience because we can see more of the whole picture. Then again, we also know what we are waiting for.
Does any of this make sense? Anyhow, God Jul and we will all hålla tummarna for you that things move swiftly.

I moved from Oregon to Kiruna in Sept. 2001. I think I'm adjusted. Sorta.

Welcome to the board. I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but I just wanted to say that you shouldn't get your hopes up for a short wait time just b/c you are moving up here to Norbotten. I moved to Kiruna over a year ago and it took over 8 months to get the permit. It was an almost 6 month wait between my interview and Mike's interview here in Kiruna. Hopefully your paperwork will go much, much faster.
