Does anyone watch this?? I do every year, because I find the dresses and everything else so fun to see! I like the beauty of how they look and the importance of the award....

I moved from Oregon to Kiruna in Sept. 2001. I think I'm adjusted. Sorta.

We watched about three minutes of the banquet last night. I've decided that I need to be a member of some royal family so I can wear a tiara. I've always wanted a tiara. It's my dream *lol*.
The part we saw was totally sad b/c one of the old men prize winners was totally snoring away at the table. I was mad at the camera men for zeroing in on him.

hahahah yes I know what you mean, Ive always loved those too and I wanted to be a princess for the longest time! But, Im close, I married a Lord!!
Oh yes, I know, I was watching most of it and I saw the poor old man falling asleep! I felt so sorry for him and I understand that he did fall asleep, who wouldnt when you are sorrounded by 1300 people that youve never seen before and probably wont ever see again!!
Add to that all the stuff you have to do before the ceremony and during the whole thing and the dinner afterwards, plus coming from afar and perhaps suffering from Jetlag!!
I do love parades and ceremonial stuff, but sometimes it is just too much! I wonder how the Royals make it through!! Well I guess they are used to it by now!!

The part I liked the best was when they were getting the awards and then the speeches! I liked the laureate with the pony tail because Ive never seen someone there with a pony tail before!!
I also liked the speeches, of those I liked the Hungarian laureate and the little professor who was so funny, telling a story about the student who wanted to know how to get the Nobel Prize!
After the awards, when they sang the Swedish national anthem, I found myself singing aong, and the incredible thing is that I can still remember all the words!!
