I think this seems like a nice bunch of people, so I hope you find someone closer to home to chat with. I agree that a lot of stuff around seems to be more geared to us "noll åtta" people!
The recipes look good. I had the same trouble initially with conversions, but it does get easier. I now automatically think in dl rather than ml and don't have to scratch my head over what msk or tsk etc means. Get yourself a set of Swedish measuring cups and spoons to help you get used to it.
