Sometimes back in Tennessee, for appetizers or snack trays I had cubed cheese and summer sausage. Today I discovered lökkorv. It tastes really close but you don't want to get the kind that has a string wrapped around it. Yuk! Regular honey mustard here is good to dip it in. At a supermarket called Willy's I found real bacon. Thick slices and in a large pack plus American cheese slices. There was even a 50 slice package. After I go there tomorrow to 'shop some' I can tell you the price. I think I saw some pepperoni in sticks there too.

I love Willy's! Since discovering it a couple of months ago, that is the only place we shop! I have seen that bacon and wanted so bad to buy it but it is close to 50sek I think. It is a huge package though, so I am sure it is worth it, but I just wish they had a smaller package!!
Oh they also have the Capri Sun drink pouches. I remember taking those in my lunch when I was in school! They are only 19 sek for a 10 pack. I think there is 10. Alex loves them!

About bacon, I've seen people freeze it, and I've done so myself (even though I've seen packages of it say "do not freeze"). You could separate the package into the portions you'd use each time and freeze them wrapped separately. =M=

That's the same price as the bacon at Willy's here....but for that particular kind of bacon the price isn't any higher than at Wal-Mart. You can separate it and freeze it. The easiest way is to just cut the whole pack in half and put each half in a plastic bag. The package of 50 cheese slices was 37 sek. I wouldn't even have bought it the first time but Mats wanted it for burgers. Then I was sneaking it into pasta and stuff...the cheeses here are really good but not much for melting. There were pepperoni sticks there too. Large size for under four dollars....that's worth the price if you haven't had it on pizza in a while.

Pam, have you tried the kraft singles here? I find they melt much better.
As for the bacon....yes everytime I see it I think.."oh I could freeze it" but still shelling out 50 sek at one time for something like that, meaning a non necessity, is hard. One of these days I will splurge, but for now I think of the other things we need more. But let me know how it tastes!!

LOL Les, forgive me in advance....you sound like Mats the first SEVERAL times I mentioned buying chicken filets. The pack was around six dollars but there were six in it. That's three meals for us. TWO dollars each meal. I haven't actually counted but I bet there's at least 40 slices of bacon in the pack....that's a lotta BLTs.

LOL!!!! And the funny thing is that I would probably buy 10 things for a total of 100sek that didn't go as far as one thing that cost 50. I am weird that way! But if you tell me that bacon is good I will buy it next time! I guess the two times I have stood staring at it for five minutes I have this conversation in my head that goes something like,
"bring home the bacon, you know you want it." "Yeah, but I could get 14 jars of beets for the same price" "but do you even eat beets?" "eww...no but they are a bargain so I must get them" "you can't buy something you won't eat." "Okay well I could get Alex two packages of pancakes for that price, or a big pack of Billy's for Tor" "But what could you get that is just for Leslie" "Something just for me? What? That is sacrilege!"
;D

How 'bout this? Get a really big, really cheap bag of flour at Willy's when you buy the bacon. Use the bisquik recipe for pancakes.....pancakes go really good with BACON!!!
