Curry Shrimp recipe we got from my FIL. No idea where he got it from but easy !!! It's in both English and Swedish - for those of you who would like to compare of practice.
Served with rice.
Ingredients ENGLISH
1 lb shrimp - I prefer frozen peeled for the ease 2 tbs curry 2-3 peppers: green & yellow look nice, but any color 1 can of crushed tomatoes 2-3 dl cream 1 fish bullion
DIRECTIONS
Cook the shells in a little water - if you use fresh.
Fry the shrimp in the curry quite a while.
Remove and put in a plate.
Cut the peppers into strips.
Fry peppers in butter or oil until they are tender.
Add a can of tomatoes.
Add the shrimp broth if you have any - we don't since we use the frozen, peeled shrimp.
Add the cream and let simmer a while until it thickens - you can always cheat with a little flour and water.
Add fish bullion, cayenne pepper and tobasco for taste.
Add shrimps. Heat a little.
Serve with rice.
SWEDISH
• 500 g räkor • 2 msk curry • 2-3 st. paprika • 1 burk krossade tomater • 2-3 dl. grädde • 1 fisk buljong
• Koka av räkskalen med lite vatten. • Fräs räkorna i curry - ganska mycket. • Ta upp räkorna och lägg de på ett fat. • Skär paprikorna i små stavar. • Fräs paprikorna i mat fettet tills de blir mjuka. • Häll på en burk krossade tomater. • Häll på räk avkoket. • Häll på grädde och låt sjuda ett tag (tills det blir relativt tjock). Fuska eventuellt med lite mjölredning. • Smaksätt med lite fiskbuljong tärning, lite cayenne peppar och tabasco. • Vänd ner räkorna i röran. • Serveras med ris.
