Has anyone here used that in candy? I recently tasted some candy and know it had almond paste. I can probably wing a recipe but I'd rather have a tried and true one. Can you tell my mind has already drifted to Christmas baking? And Christmas decorating? And Christmas parties? And Christmas presents?

This is a little late in coming, but if you wanted to you could easily buy almond paste in the grocery stores here, it's called mandel mässa. It's generally in the isle with the flour and sugar.

It's in a casing and looks like Jimmy Dean sausage. I've used it in some recipes and it's really nice.

Thanks guys. I found the almond paste I've just never cooked with it and wondered if anyone had recipes....I have a tube in the fridge now that's probably a nice, hairy shade of green.

I don't know if it goes green and fuzzes. There's so much sugar in it. I used to keep mine in an old Bregott tub and it stayed pretty nicely.
I have a killer recipe for muffins with cherries and marzipan, but it's back home. And I know the time is coming for semlor, and those call for a little slice of marzipan in the bun before you fill it with whipped cream.

Semlor are in the stores now! I'm sure I've seen Almond Paste in sheets too ... for Princess Tårta... in a light shade of green & pink

Boxing day is a Canadian and British holiday, right?
I have always wondered what it is exactly? My stepmom's Canadian and she explained it to me, but I forgot what she said it was.
