Whatever happened with the discussion on starting a craft box round robin type thing? I would be interested.

I tossed out the idea after reading all the craft related posts on the board. Sandy was the only one who showed any interest and since I don't have anything I could send out at the moment, it kind of died. I hope to pick up kits and floss etc when I go home though and would love to get involved in sending around a box next month.

I did pick up a few cross stitch kits and floss while I was home and would love to get a "craft box" moving around. Who is still interested?

Again, I'm interested, Kitty, but won't be back home until March 1st.

We start a box going round with craft related items. Each person that recieves it is free to take what interests them but needs to add back a similar item. For example if I took out a complete cross stitch kit, I would need to replace with a complete something else kit or something close in value. If I took out a ball of wool then I would replace it with some floss or enough felt for another project etc.
The sender pays postage since the recipient will be paying the postage to go on to the next person. It won't be too costly within the country. If there is no one requesting the box, it will go back to the original sender, who will then try to get more interest in starting another round. A note with the original senders address should go round with the box. When a person recieves the box they make a post here on the board, just so we have an idea where it is. Then when they are ready to send on, they could ask who wants it next if there is not a list. I think it would be best to send a list with if there are a number of people wanting the box, stating the persons name and email addy. Then the sender can email for a snail mail address.
If anyone has any suggestions to make I would love to hear them. I haven't done one of these, it was originally done as a book exchange among some friends of mine in the US and it was cost prohibitive for me to join in. As long as it remained within the group it went well. There was a problem when someone agreed to send the box on to a friend of a friend and it disappeared for a while.
I did pick up cross stitch kits in Canada when I was there as well as floss and will gladly start this off by packaging them up and sending out to whichever of you ladies wants it. *smile*

So here's a silly question. If after you get this Swedish craft box going (after March when Carolyn gets back :-) ) , say I wanted to add some small thing to it just for the fun of it for you all to take, or leave for the next. What kind of "small" things are you craft boxer recipients interested in?
Maybe I could send something to the person who has the craft box at the moment, just to put in (non gratis) from the American whose heart is still in Sweden, but who physically remains in America.
Just a silly idea from Linda
