In today's sales papers, we have advertised kärnvetemjöl, which neither Anders nor I have heard of before.
Taking the literal meanings of the word kärn, one possibility is that the flour is seedless, but since flour is made from ground seeds anyway, what the heck?
Another meaning could be that it's irradiated. Make cakes to have your kids glow in the dark this Jul? Somehow I don't think so.
Or you could take it that they've taken the flour down to its essence, but heck, flour isn't exactly a tremendously complex thing here.
So, Cake Guru, I'm guessing that maybe it's extra fine ground or something, more like cake flour. What's your word on this new thing I'm seeing for the first time?

I found this info on internet. Seems to be a good flour for baking, I have never tried it myself. I use just the regualar kind.
"Specialvetemjöl eller kärnvetemjöl är vetemjöl som malts av sädeskornets innersta delar. Kärnvetemjöl har mycket gluten-gel och har därför bra bakningsegenskaper. Det passar för bakverk med mycket socker och fett, t.ex. kakor och bullar."

Cakes are only as good as what you put in them.

It's NOT extra fine ground special protein vitamin-C enriched anything.
What it is, is just a fancy name for plain old all-purpose flour.
When in doubt, check the protein content.

I just saw a special on it in the ads today and since I had never heard of it, I was wondering if it were more like cake flour. Especially since I actually saw pecans, IN THE SHELL, in our Konsum the other day. Not at a price I would pay, of course, but still, pecans!

Pecans in the shell usually show up around X-mas here in Sweden!
