Yesterday we made the trek to the city, because we saw RUSTA had a sale on for icicle lights /gardinljus for 149 kr. ... the bummer is that they were sold out  The good news is ... we went to our local ÖB there stacked with all there other Xmas lights were boxes of coloured stringed Xmas lights (80 bulbs in all) ... ok your saying big deal  I've seen those little coloured strings before here ... but here me out. These are exactly the same kind you would used back home  The bulb is slightly smaller (size of an uncraked walnut) .... and the best thing is you can add onto the string with the connecting plug. no more converters no more 2 or 3 strings to plug in behind the tree. Adding to say our house blends both our countries Xmas traditions including coloured & white lights on the tree. KONSTSMIDE sYSTEM LIGHTSET/LJUSSLINGSYSTEM 80 x 12v. |

Anders was in the States this past September. At the time he was there he saw that some of the stores were already selling Xmas lights. He bought some icicle lights. We have a convertor for them, and put them up yesterday and they look fantastic. I had no idea they sold them here. Last year we went everywhere trying to find them. We asked around, and no one knew what they were. How funny! Anders hauled two boxes of those lights back when we could have gotten them here. He'll be thrilled.

We had actually picked up two strings of miniature multi-colored lights at our local loppmarknad two Juls ago for about 80 SEK each. They even had a dial that let you make them flash in patterns, although that was WAY too much for my Swede and they had the cheesy electronic Christmas carols too, which of course got turned off right away (drove ME nuts).
So they are out there, it's just a matter of looking for them, but we've already bought several strings of lights here to bring home, including 7 bubble lights!
