There is a British food store opening up near Linnéaplatsen sometime soon! This is great news for us since the American food store closed down here.
At BillHälls grocery store last week I found a can of sweetened condensed milk in the baking isle! I know this can be found in Sweden anyways, but this is a Swedish brand so it looks like it may be easier to find soon.

Well, the British food store will probably mean ready access now for you all for brown sugar, since their muscovado sugar is the exact same thing. I think their regular sugar is cane sugar, as opposed to beet sugar, as well.
Sounds like the few things all of us have been lacking are slowly becoming available. Soon there will be nothing to whine about, huh, ladies? ;D

We have two Gray´s American Food stores here in Stockholm, I had heard of the American food store in Gothenburg and Im guessing it is Gray´s as well. Im surprised they closed, but Im happy for you that you now have the British store to go to! As you know we have one here too and it is very good! I think it is wonderful that there are so many things from UK/Nort America coming to Sweden, because it is something that all of us who are living in an International household need and it is also something that I know makes homesickness a little easier ( just ask me what I feel like when I see Spanish products at Ica ...) Also, Im glad there are these North American / UK foods in the ICA stores too because I like to see these foods on the same shelves as the Swedish foods, it is a way for Swedes who would never think of going to another store ( because they arent in an international relationship) to get food actually be able to try it anyway!

Marie, I have seen the sweetened condensed milk in many stores around the Stockholm area just recently too. Bev and I were talking about that yesterday. It isn't the import brand I used to find in just a few stores either. So it looks like it will be around for good! YAY!!

Well, I stand corrected...it seems it's a Danish brand not Swedish. But anyhow the company name is Törsleffs and it says in red letters 'Kondenserad Mjölk -sockrad-' It's kind of a blue background with a piece of what looks like graham cracker crusted pie of some kind. I believe it was 22sek for a 397gram can.
*upon closer inspection I realized that the piece of pie shown is key lime pie. They list the recipe on the back of the can....it sure doesn't look like key lime pie to me though! ;D
