It's called KLiNGEL. They have dress clothes and casual clothes for women and men. Also, underware, sleepware and shoes. The prices aren't especially cheap but neither are they especially expensive. I was impressed with the wider than usual range of sizes. They even have some things in petite. I don't find a web address but if you're interested in receiving your own catalog the number to call is 0325-475 60.

I don't know if all Swedish catalogs do this, but one thing I found when I was looking at Mary's, I think it was, if you order from them, you then have to pay some extra fees (hidden in the small print), which can be a couple hundred kroner more, so it really helps to read that small print and get some translations. I don't have the catalog with me here, but I remember asking Anders what these other fees were, and at the time, when I added that on to what it was I liked, I didn't feel like it was worth it to me to make an order.

I've looked at the Klingel catalog also. In fact, I just got the second one last week. I am concerned that there is no web ordering. It is nice to know right away if something is in stock. Pam, if you order, please, let us know quality, etc.
Thanks.

I got that catalog, too, but I thought the clothes looked cheap and super polskiga!
La redoute has nice things, and the quality is decent, too

Oh Carolyn, if you want to teach me how to sew I would forever be in your debt. I used to sew when I was younger. I made a few dresses, and other simple items. But I haven't actually used a sewing machine in probably 10 years. That lovely pattern that you sent me for that coat has so far gone unused. I had thought that Anders sister would help me with it, but so many things came up for her and me that it hasn't worked out. In truth, I haven't tried hard enough. I need inspiration to sew. Carolyn, you could be my inspiration. It's worth at least a good dinner, and a place to stay, right? ;D We have an extra bed (not a pull out, but a real twin bed) in the second bedroom/Anders office. Whaddya say?

Cake Guru,
Have you ordered from La Redoute? I am going to be placing an order with them, and just wondered if you had done this, and if so what was your experience?
Personally I am just happy to find something different from the typical H&M, and Lindex clothes, as well as IKEA bedsheets.
A friend of mine ordered flannel bedsheets from La Redoute and they were very soft. They are a bit more expensive than regular sheets from IKEA, but these were better quality, flannel, and super-soft.
I was just wondering if their clothing was a good buy as well?

I'll be more than happy to help you with sewing, Sabeine, once I get back home and settled a little bit. That coat pattern I sent you is relatively basic and a good starter. I'll be in touch in a few weeks and we'll set somethihng up.

I wouldn't mind coming down to your neck of the woods to teach sewing either. I haven't been to that part of Sweden yet. We can discuss it further once I get back home and settled down.
I bought a couple of really exquisite patterns last week and I have some silk I've been saving and I think it's time I made myself a new outfit for Jul anyway.

This was sent to me by a friend in Norway. It's a company called Green HouseApparently, it's a Danish company and these products are available only in Scandinavia. Here in Sweden you can order via a party plan system or via the website. She thought the prices were good by Norwegian standards. As I've never bought or even looked at clothes in Sweden, I can't tell if it's good value or not. I quite liked the brown jumper with the shawl collar and the large scarf/wrap. The above catalogue is for men's and women's clothes. Their range of homewares is available at Magic Marta

Have you not bought clothes in Sweden? How have you gotten by? I had to buy a good coat and other warm items. Some items that I had brought with me that I thought would be sufficient were not. It is pricey here for clothes, but I had to cave otherwise I would have been cold.
