Okay, not the good pressure kind but a water bath thingie.....for only twenty kronor! I snapped it up quick. If I don't get into serious canning with it it'll look cool in my flower bed.

That's right. It's to seal the jars. My mom had a HUGE pressurized one that would hold I think 14 quart jars. Scared the heck out of me every time we put it on the stove but we never had a problem with it....well, she didn't. We kids had a problem picking, peeling and shucking stuff for it!

Now I betcha you'd give anything to have that pressure canner too. I remember them exploding occasionally when I was little. Not my mom's, but I remember other people having stories about that.
