Okay, while I was in the States, I lost track of what was happening on Eastenders, who was doing who, etc. It's a BBC Prime afternoon soap that's been running forever. Anybody else out there a fan that I can write to and you can fill me in on what I've missed? Lisa maybe?

I have to confess to having at one point being a compulsive viewer of Eastenders, I'm not so much so now but still tune it to it when I can. Let me know which point you saw it up until and I'll see if I can get you up to date on it.

Oh Lordy, it was about a year and a half ago, and I don't remember all of the names either, but let's see:
Pat had just got caught fooling around with Peg's (pub owner) husband, had been tossed out and Peg was having a nervous breakdown.
Dot's evil son, Nick, had gotten injured.
Ian was juggling his finances around, trying not to lose everything, and still married to his ex with the mousy girl (Laura?) hanging around taking care of the kids and in love with Ian.
Pauline's old man was still alive, but wandering mentally, and the daughter was married to and living with the geeky kid who adored her.
And I was seeing bits too from old episodes, and I know Denny ended up getting murdered, but whatever happened to his tarty drunken wife?
and how'd the old fart grandpa end up being married to Dot? And I gather Dot was mugged, but I just got back into it the end of last week.
And what's Phil been up to anyway? Looks like he's got some hold on Ian, what for? Aside from the fact they're both pretty miserable old gets.
So much happens in 18 months, huh?? ;D ;D ;D

Well well some of the things you've written I can't even remember happening!
Den's wife died fairly recently but she hadn't actually appeared in the soap for years. Her daughter Sharon is back in it so that's how we knew she'd died.
I have no idea how Jim and Dot ended up together! Dot was mugged and now she's lost her faith in God.
Phil is using Laura (Ian's wife) as a way of annoying Ian. He let her manage the cafe and is now helping her to get a divorce from Ian. By the way she's pregnant not with Ian's baby but Gary (who works in the garage with Phil).
I'm sure once you've watched it for a few weeks it'll feel like you haven't missed much!

Whatever happened to Dot's evil son and grandson?
And Pat, she looks the same but Peg (barbara Windsor) looks like she's gone through a LOT of plastic surgery.

Dot's son, Nick is dead I'm sure, something to do with Mark Fowler.I know for sure that her grandson ended up flying through the laundry window and died.
And Barbara Windsor oh yeah she's definitely been nipped and tucked!

Okay, about the time I left, Mark had pushed Nick off of some scaffolding or something and he was in critical condition in the hospital. The grandson was a bad lot, into drugs, so I'm not surprised he took a leap. As for Barbara Windsor, I remember her in the old "Carry On" series. She must be 100 at the very least. And you see, ladies, no need to hunger after American soaps when you have a British one right to hand, with all the lust and wickedness one could hope for on a daily basis.

Lisa, I did find an Eastenders site on line, somebody else who has no life, who watches each episode and does a synopsis, so I can get back up to speed on all the doings! Apparently, what's shown in Sweden is about 6-8 months behind what's being shown in the UK, so I've started my way with the end of February 2001, since I left the first part of october 2001, just about the time Nick had his fall from the scaffolding and was in hospital and Pat was still out on her ear, after Roy and Peg found out about her and Frank.
