Hey everyone, I just thought I'd share my really happy news....After 11 weeks of SFI, I've passed my C test, so I've been moved onto the D class. I went through a lot of work in the last week. I was told I wasn't good enough for one of the slots that was open, and I insisted with the teacher that I deserved a chance. So today I got my chance, and I came out with the best grade of those who took it. I'm planning on being done with SFI around April, and I started in October. I'm really proud of myself...I've never gotten far at all with foreign languages. I guess I owe a lot to my hubby for helping me and putting up with all of my questions. This is going to make my XMas break even better!

I moved from Oregon to Kiruna in Sept. 2001. I think I'm adjusted. Sorta.

Congrats! I know what a chore SFI is so I'm sure you are busting at the seams with happiness. Sounds like you'll pass the national prov with flying colors.

I just knew you could do it, even if you aren't Rumanian.

The Rumanian thing was a bit of a joke. First part of the week, I was chatting with Maya on AOL Instant Messenger and she told me that two Rumanian girls in her SFI class were making smart-ass remarks about Americans and how Rumanians were always superior to Americans in learning languages. They had been picked to take the test and her teacher was going to blow Maya off for the test, but I told her to go for it anyway, what could it hurt?
It turned out she beat out both Rumanian girls in the test!!!

Well, good for you Maya! I was wondering only because my step-mom is Ukranian/Romanian by heritage, yet born and raised in Canada. She is a wonderful woman, one that I call my mom.

The fun part was that the test was pretty difficult for me, and both of them said it was really easy. I guess its good not to doubt yourself and just push for what you believe in. I just wonder how difficult that final test will be. I don't think many people at the komvux where I go have passed it the first time around.
