Thanks again everyone for answering my questions. While reading a job-related book, the idea of relative job prestige came to mind and I wondered how things are i Sverige. Is there a traditional line drawn, as there is in the US, between "blue-" and "white-collar" jobs? Other kinds of divisions? There's also the issue of race, as in the US, which can enter into this, and/or the status of newer immigrants who tend to start out in the lower paying/lower prestige areas...(hmm...am I turning into some kind of economist? ) Also, the sense I've gotten is that there's a bit less of a division of women's work and men's in some professions there than Americans are used to. And, is there equal pay for equal work in actuality?
