Know that feeling well! We had the same problem with hooking up the VCR the first time. Lars-Göran and I sweated for several hours over the manuals before giving up (and ALMOST throwing the thing off the balcony!) The next day, his 20 year old son came for fika, wandered over to the VCR and without consulting the manual, hooked it up and set it all up in 2 minutes. Sheesh! So get onto Anders' son! ;D

Well, I gave it a shot, but between the cable box and the DVD player, there's no markings that say what is said in the instruction sheet, and I'm not sure which of three lines is the one that's supposed to go into the input box on the DVD player, so I guess we will wait until Sunday, when our son, Karl, comes for dinner. He's 22, this stuff should be a snap for him.

Okay, I don't know what happened and I'm not going to ask, but when I got home from the shops today, my clever husband had somehow managed to get the DVD player hooked up! Probably just enough of what my mother would have called Swedish stubbornness!
