Ugh... what a job. Currently I am in the process of painting our kitchen, living room, and hall. All of them are wallpapered. The kitchen is half wallpapered. Since I don't have much experience with wallpaper, and have never painted over it, I wonder if these little incidences that have occured are normal? I am painting the hall now, and it seems that as I am painting over the paper there comes little bubbles from behind the wallpaper that were not there before. Is this normal? Is it just because the wallpaper is now wet, and the bubbles will smooth out as the paint dries? I sure hope so! Cause otherwise this will be a disaster.

Yeah, that happened to me too, but when it dries, the bubbles go away. As I mentioned to you before, tho, the critical part is spackling at any dividing lines where the wall paper meets the border paper or whatever, because that WILL show. What color???

The hall color is a very light sage with a slight yellow tone. The living room will be a dark sage. The two colors were on the same sample strip at the the paint store, and they really match well. The dark sage sounds like it will feel like a cave in here, but it looks really nice so far. We have large windows, so the apt can get away with a darker shade. It was the hall that felt like a cave. Long and very dark, but soon it will be really light.

BTW, I am doing the painting all by my little lonesome. Anders is working tonight because they have some major project due by Mon. He probably won't be home until really late. Then it is the same story tomorrow, then the both of us work on Sun. I am feeling a little stressed. I don't mind the painting, it is the preparation, and the dreaded clean up. Not to mention trying to put everything back in place, and the dust from the spackle sanding is everywhere.

Yes. I re-spackled and sanded again in certain areas, and it looks better now, but still it does not look the same as if I had painted over a wall that had no wallpaper. It is so frustrating! I am only about halfway done too, because it is so time consuming. I do hope that in the end it will look good. At least the color is nice.
