I know I haven't post much here lately (ok, so I haven't posted at all lately) but it's because I don't have much to say. However, I just was coming up with some wedding ideas after looking through some websites and thought maybe you guys could tell me what you think and give me some suggestions. I'm not a crafty person at all so don't know what I am getting myself into. I know a lot of you enjoy crafts and are very creative, plus it seems like a lot of you have gotten married recently, so maybe you can give me some sort of feedback or at least tell me if this idea has any merit at all. Maybe it will even inspire someone else who is planning a wedding.
I've been reading about scrapbook guestbooks and would like to do something like that. We'll also have a normal guestbook (my grandma already bought one), but I was thinking about having craft supplies available so that each person/family could make a page for a scrapbook.
The idea is to have a basket of markers, crayons, beads, flower petals, glue, ect on each table, along with some good, sturdy paper. Then we'll set out little signs asking the guests to contribute to our memories by making a page of well wishes for our future or whatever. We are definitely going to have disposable cameras on each table, so I am also going to suggest leaving room for a photo of themselves to be taken with the disposable cameras. I was also thinking maybe supply a little tub of love type words cut out of magazines.
Does this sound like a lot of work? Or does it sound cheesy or annoying or anything like that? If you went to the wedding what would you think of the idea? I really like it, but don't what it to look like I'm running a kindergarten. Maybe have art supply baskets set up at a table and after the wedding each table can go and get a basket so the stuff isn't cluttering up the tables at first? I'm going to have to find some magazines with English words if I want to do this. I guess that won't be too hard. I can cut out words in May.
At the end of the whole she-bang I would collect the pages and put them in some sort of album or binder, along with the pictures that we get back from the disposable cameras. I think it would be a really nice way to remember the wedding.
