Looks like I'll be flying out of Stockholm for the States next Thursday (hold your thumbs) and will have a few hours to kill before I have to get out to Arlanda. Anybody want to meet up for coffee after about 2 p.m.?

Wow, so you've decided to take the opportunity in the States? Things move quickly for you.

It did sound like a good opportunity. I hope you are able to bring them in to the 21st century so that you can get more work AND do it from Sweden. I know it'll be tough for you being away from your man but it's just a moment of time in your life. One of my fav. sayings 'think of the money'. Mmmmm says a lot about me! I hope it all goes well for you.

Thanks, everybody, for your kind thoughts. This has been kind of a depressing day for me, realizing I'm only home 2 months and have to go back to the States again. I hope I can get things set up so I won't have to do this again any time soon, especially without my dearest husband.

Well, my friends, 48 hours from departure and no tickets. We paid last week, internet bank, sent confirmation to the ticket people. Friday, no word. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, closed for holidays. Today's mail, no tickets.
Then comes an e-mail, saying I didn't pay 75 SEK for delivery of the tickets, despite the fact I checked that option AND paid the invoice they sent me immediately. So I paid the 75 SEK, sent the confirmation to the ticket people, and got back an e-mail, confirming receipt with a notice that it may take 3 days to receive the tickets.
a phone call, 20 minutes on hold, listening to the Swedish equivalent of "your call is important to us, etc.", and finally a woman actually spoke to me. She was going to check to see if they had been mailed already over the week-end (what??) because the 75 SEK wasn't all that important (double what???). I told her, hold on, I'm leaving Örebro on Thursday a.m. Anyhow, I managed to convince her to see if I could pick up my tickets somewhere in Stockholm (apparently, they are issued there anyway), and eventually, I got an e-mail, saying pick them up on Thursday.
So thursday, I go to Stockholm, meet Sabeine, pick up tickets, we meet Bunny for fika and then Sabeine and her SO are driving me to Arlanda, isn't that lovely?
Pity I don't have good friends in England next door to Heathrow Airport, who could hang out with me for a few hours, since I'll be spending the night at the airport and well into the next day, but not quite enough time to go into London (well, maybe, we'll see how I'm feeling).

And I was thinking that it would have been a ton of fun to fly to England for a day or two. Too bad the timing was wrong with my work, otherwise it would have been fun to fly with you there and I'd stay for a day or so.
I sent you an email about where to meet on Thurs.
