Okay, I thought this would be fun, to separate this topic out from the previous one. What is the ONE comfort food you can't do without or would miss? This isn't calling for a list, but most of us have that one food that we turn to when we're sick or depressed.
For me, it would have to be cream of tomato soup, made with milk and with a small pat of butter melting right in the middle and saltine crackers on the side. My mom would make this during the winter when we'd come in from play or school, and if you weren't feeling good, that would kind of ease your throat and make you feel warm and cozy.

When I´m sick and depressed I don´t feel like eating at all. I just lose my appetite. When I think about foods I would like to have it always belongs in a bigger picture. Strawberry cake with whipped cream eaten out in the garden a warm beautiful summers day with the kids and flies fighting over the pieces. The tiny perch you and your family just caught down at the pier that you now smoke so you can have them later as fingerfood. Fried "strömmingsflundra" on "knäckebröd" in Kungsträdgården a freezing cold winters day when you are out Christmas shopping.

When I am depressed I can't eat at all! I lost a lot of weight back in the fall of 2000 for that reason. But just take a look at me now and you can see how well adjusted I am! ;D I definitely won't be blowing away when the next breeze comes.

Probably sounds silly but its: Homemade mashed potatoes and gravy (not instant, deli taters, nor gravy in a bottle or can)--that's my depression/sad times comfort food or Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup and Saltine crackers--feeling sickly and cold comfort food. I guess I crave carbs when I'm down? Explains the weight gain this past winter too?
