Just wanted to say HI to you all and congratulations on the new layout of the message board. Thanks to Leslie--I finally got the registration figured out. And on to crocheting--I crocheted the hat that Leslie so generously provided the pattern instructions for on the "old" message board. It turned out great! I did it in a varigated blue, soft, fuzzy baby yarn. Since we'll have snow showers tomorrow in Minnesota, it was just in time. Yuck to thinking of snow already Waiting to see much more here--and hope you don't mind that I'm not in Sweden. You oldies know I love your chosen country and would love to be where you are! Cheers and peace to you all. ~Linda~

Glad you finally got in! Now if we can just bring Pam in! She is having the same problems you had! I am happy the hat turned out for you! I am working on an afghan now, but haven't had much time for it lately. So today I finally had some moments, but can't find the crochet hook I was using for it! Argh! I can find a dozen other hooks, but not the one I need!

I made that hat too! It was great, it worked up in only two hours! Love it!! I'm now working on a scarf to match the 'v' and shell pattern. Here's a link for a scarf I want to try next, I think it might be really neat: www.hgtv.com/hgtv/cr_needlework_crochet/article/0,1789,HGTV_3260_1380059,00.html

I'm the one that originally asked for the hat pattern and it's still sitting on my projects table, undone! But it's definitely getting brisk in the mornings now and hopefull that will be incentive to get it done soon, in my copious spare time, of course.

I have done a lot of crocheting in the past, surprisingly enough for most people who know my age ( Im 22). I have made quilts, both for myself and my family as for friends. I have always liked it alot and I will start again as soon as I can, because it relaxes me and it is also the only thing I CAN do with a needle! Everything else, sowing nad cross stitch and all that...Impossible!

You'll have to join one of our crafting week-ends, Lady Duff, once we get them organized. I swear, Sandy can teach anybody ANYTHING. She taught Marie to tat and has so many skills, as does Leslie (more in your area, Stockholm)

Oh that sounds nice!! Well, I would love to if I can! As you may know ( or not) I am studying to be a teacher and Im pretty busy with studying, more or less just reading and writing essays and such, but other than that I do have time for other things! Yes, it would be nice if we could have a get-together in Stockholm since Lady Duff is not gifted with a drivers license or any other means of taking herself to and fro these crocheting envents! I would like that pattern for the hat too please, I cant promise to make is right away, but it would be cool to try it out Im glad to hear that Sandy ís so good at teaching others things, I am sure there are tons of things I can learn from you Sandy, too bad you arent living closer to here, or I to where ever you are!

Lady Duff, if you can crochet, then cross stitching will be a piece of cake for you! ;D It is very simple!

Gosh, I'm embarassed! First of all for the high praise, which I'm not so sure I deserve. And, second of all, for being too lazy to discover all the ins and outs of this great message board. Hats off to Les!! Lady Duff, I live in Ed in western Sweden. Dals-Ed is the kommun (in Dalsland). We are the smallest kommun in Sweden, just a mere 2 hours north of Göteborg about 15 minutes from the Norwegian border. I think that you are corresponding with my daughter, Haley, in fact. I have been crocheting since I was a kid. Learned tatting while I was managing an arts & crafts store that my mother owned. Taught myself to knit at the beginning of my first marriage, some 20 years ago, before the kids even showed up. I've recently taken up quilting or, as they like to call it in Sweden, lappteknik. The next on the agenda is weaving. Hope to get to it before summer. It would be great fun to get together, if the hubby will let me go! I think he is jealous of all of the friends I have made all over Sweden and since he is a bit of a introvert, I get to do all of the traveling!
