I awake to the news that Anna Lindh died of her injuries during the night. I am SO distressed by this news.
I remember hearing the news of Olof Palme's murder and how devastated Sweden was, kind of a loss of innocence like we suffered with the death of John Kennedy really.
Now Anna Lindh, a brilliant and charming person, so active and even mentioned as a successor to Göran Persson. She was one of the first politikers that I learned to recognize and listen to on the news, much admired by everyone it seemed.
I sure hope they catch the idiot that did this. I don't know how the nation would react if the murderer gets away like the assassin of Palme does.

My thoughts are with Anna Lindh's family & dear Friends and would like to extent my sorrow to the Swedish public ... a very sad & dark day in history around the world.

Thankyou for the link to the condolence book, Natooke. I am both completely stunned and so saddened by the news of her attack and death - I am still digesting the shock. I really admired Anna Lindh both as a politician and as a fine example of a woman of strength, commitment and humanity. It was a sad day indeed. Vale, Anna.
