Is it ever fair when someone young dies? My cousin died today at the ripe age of 33. I feel tremendous grief now and wonder what could have been for him.
He lives here in Sweden and had spent a year as an exchange student living with us in CA. His sister came the year after him, and then a year later I came here to Sweden and lived with them and their family for a year.
I got a phone call earlier today from his friend Lars that my cousin had died. I just can't believe it. I was supposed to see him next week.
This has been a rough year for my family so far, lots has happened. I guess I can take heart by remembering how fun my cousin was, he had a heart as wide as the world. He has moved on and flies with angels now. I will miss him very much.

Sabeine, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your cousin.
Nobody ever promised us fair on this earth. Good people die young and mean people seem to live forever and there is just no way we can comprehend the reasons. All we can do is be thankful when the good ones touch our lives, no matter how briefly.

Our deapest sympaties to you and your family on your loss . No it's never fair when things like this happens to the ones we love and never easy to comprehend when some one has so long still to live and learn from life passes away so soon. Then leaves wondering how it actualy works up there. This might not help but for every life that passes away a new one is created like the flower that dries up a new one blooms.

This is a little too close to home for me. I am his age. I can't begin to imagine how you feel right now. I am sure it is very hard to deal with but its life I guess. We have no control over certain things, death being top on the list. Take care and be strong.

A candle that shines twice as bright only burns half as long.

Thank you for the good thoughts. It means a lot to me.
A brief explanation of what happened. My cousin was hangliding and sadly ran into a power line where it tore through one of the wings and he tried to gain control but plumetted into the ocean instead. It is a terrible accident. The only solace that his family has is that he died doing something he really loved.
Aftonbladet wrote a full page article about it in last Saturday's paper. They do not mention my cousins name, since that is frowned upon here. I was feeling ill when I read the article, and yet at the same time I am glad that his life and passing was acknowledged.
