I'm thinking of going up to Stockholm next week, no day in particular so far. Anybody interested in fika? If so, what days would be best? Last time I was there, Bunny showed me a great place in Gamla Stan for coffee.

I would be interested in getting together for a fika. I'm in school M-F but I can skip a day. Any day except Monday works for me. I already have too much on my plate on Mon. It would be wonderful to see you again.

I have already booked Friday to meet 'SlyandKami' and Hugo at Arlanda. Would love to fika any other day during the week though. *smile*

I'm in town Friday, so that day suits me best. Just a thought for some people based in Stockholm - The Southern Cross Group has a regular fika on the third Thurdsay of each month at Blå Porten Cafe - at 2pm. The cafe is situated around a big courtyard, opposite Skansen (bus stop before main entrance). It is behind a high brick fence and has a courtyard in the middle of the cafe, Lovely spot, lots of table space and room in the garden if you have kids that need to run around. They serve nice lunches, yummy cakes and good coffee. If you are lost, unemployed, studying, working part-time, at home with children (or all of the above) - you come and join a few rowdy Aussies ;D for a coffee and a chat each month. Next one is this Thursday, the 16th. A girl called Nicole Williams organises them. And no, we Aussies are not "exclusive" so anybody is more than welcome to come. Nic usually has an Aussie flag on the table. (which looks like this in case you were wondering) As I'm already wagging school on Friday , I can't really make this one. But I can give anyone Nic's mobile number if you want to send me a PM.

Sorry Debbie, I hadn't realised it's an Australian term! It means playing truant or skiving off school.

;D Okay this thread kinda died a sudden death and that got me wondering if the fika is still on? If so when, where etc and who is coming?

I was trying to work something out, but the landlord put a note in our mailbox saying they are going to be doing some major work in our apartment towards the end of the week, not giving a specific time or date, so we can't really be gone or make plans until we know something for sure. Neither my husband nor I want to leave our apartment empty for people we don't know to be coming in and out, landlords or no.

Certainly not! isn't the landlord supposed to give you notice? Thats too bad but are you postponing the trip or cancelling?

The landlord HAS given us notice. They are installing recycling bins in all of the apartments Thursday and Friday.
I'm still going to be coming up to Stockholm, but because I also work at home, at this moment, I'm not sure when I can arrange my trip.
