A Swedish friend of mine sent this to me, I thought it was nice. zap.to/webcamsedit: It's a list of [glow=blue,2,300]over 220 web cameras in Sweden![/glow] Many are streaming live-feeds, many snapsnots (which come through at nice quality, usually) and there are quite a few towns represented. Show us all a web cam where you live so we can see your town, too! edit: Sorry about the pop-ups on that site. You don't have to install anything to view most of the web-cams. There's one in Skellefteå that needs a download to work, I think, but I'm not condoning downloading any of that.

Wow, 70 degrees! It's 10 degrees (yes, fahrenheit!) here right now. Oh yeah, and dark, too (it's 3:30 in the afternoon). Brrrrr!

For anybody who wants a glimpse of Örebro and our castle, you can go to www.na.se, our local newspaper, scroll down a little bit on the front page, and on the left side, there's a bold print saying webbkamaren. Click on that and there's our slott straight ahead and the yellow building to the left is our old theater from the 1800s. In the summer, they put up a beergarden in the square.

That one's on that page, too, Carolyn, under "Örebro Teaterplan"
I can't find a web cam that they missed ... except for Luleå's "Bird cam" hehe (it's a camera inside a bird house, can watch the birdies make the nest, incubate the eggs, and feed the screaming chickies)
(I'm going to edit my first post to better indicate that the link has a the links to over 220 web cameras, not just Skellefteå ones)
BTW, Örebro has several other web cameras, and it looks lovely! edit: I particularly liked Örebro Stortorget, though I was surprised at the lack of people at 15:45 ... but then, it did seem to be getting a bit dark out. Your torget token artwork is nice ... perhaps better than Skellefteå's "male member" ;D

I'll have to check those out. The reason there's a dearth of people on Stortorget at 3:45 p.m. is because on Saturdays, the stores close at 2 p.m., including the liquor store (systemet) which is located at the bottom of Stortorget and everybody has gone home for the week-end. And in case you think this is a tiny little hick town that rolls up the sidewalks, it's actually the 5th largest town in Sweden, with 120,000 inhabitants, so we're a LARGE hick town that rolls up the sidewalks. But yes, it's a very beautiful town overall and it's been a wonderful new home for me. Edited to add: So the Stortorget webcam is actually at the foot of the square and that well-lit building is Systembolaget itself. The bike racks right outside contain those abandoned bikes I wrote about that are covered with the bird poop. That "sculpture" you see is locally known as "The Coffin", and it's kind of a fountain with water coming out for a waterfall effect in the summer months. They actually do have a LOT of very nice sculpture placed throughout town, that just isn't one of them.

They have a phallic tilted pole with a rounded top and sitting beneath it in the foutnain basin is a ball. heheh but yes, I did look at other things than your "coffin" and I never thought it was a hick town (doesn't every place in Sweden close up early, excepting Stockholm?)

Um, Stockholm closes up early, too. I was amazed when we lived there at how little there really is to do on weekend afternoons, or after six o'clock in the evening.
