Carolyn, I am SO annoyed by that! I know a girl in Holland who continually sends me LARGE files. Usually funny film clips etc. I've asked her not to do it, but she still continues to send them. I can't block her and am my wits ends about what to do. Tonight, we got home late and she had sent me over 10MB of mpeg files. AAArrrrgggghhh! And I don't even want to see them! I wonder what else bounced today I've cleared it now, though

Sounds like you need another e-mail. Try something similar but with a different service. That way your friend whom you can't block can send her stuff and others can still get through to you. I have three e-mail addys ... one I use to fill out online forms so that all my spam goes there (it's nearly 10 years old, it's spammed to heck as it is, anyway) a second which I give to my acquaintances and spam-forwarding friends, and a third which I give to folks who I know will NEVER mass-mail me (thus putting that e-mail address into other inboxes where it can spread to an e-mail purchasing service or hack-the-outlook-self-e-mailing-virus) Sadly, I can't give my third address out even to beloved Aunts (they love to send me the women and children chain jokes, the "do you love god" chain letters, and ohsoadorable pictures of kitties), but when I want to chit-chat with them I just check #2 and all that stuff's there for me easy enough to avoid if I don't want to deal with it for the moment, too

This especially annoys me too. Is there some proper way to say to forwarding freaks that you don't appreciate their chainmails that tell you you're going to burn in hell unless you forward this letter about starving children to atleast 10 other people? I have an uncle who is quite the hillbilly who loves to send me jokes about drunk people and sex all the time. It's just this huge list that he has and he mails these to everyone. I really get excited when I actually receive emails, so when it says I have something in my inbox and I check it and there's just a nasty joke I feel like jumping off the balcony and breaking my neck. I've tried sending them the forwards that make fun of forward senders, blocking addresses and everything, but nothing works. What's a girl to do!

Why doesn't blocking work? Numerous e-mail addresses?
I generally write to people and say, "Please take me off your list." If that doesn't work, oh well, they hit the spam trail with me. Shame when it's family, tho.

Carolyn,
There is no blocking function at all on the comhem account. It is a good account in that I get NO SPAM AT ALL! Which is wonderful. It must really weed it out. But I can't block people myself which is a pain.
It also doesn't read Hotmail or MSN mail if the person has rich-text editor turned on. The emails come to me blank. More than one person has been a little annoyed by that, but there is nothing I can do - it does not support HTML at all.
But I have another account and am now giving that one out to people who send me jokes. I'm telling them the other account is being shut down. Naughty I know, but I'm getting desperate!
