Hey everyone! I know the winter is coming and it's so easy to put on the pounds. Me, I put the pounds on way back, but I'm thinking that now is the perfect time to start losing. There's nothing better than having the sun come out in the summer and walking onto the beach in a new body. (well, I'm sure there are better things, but I can't think of them myself!) So anyhow, I'm currently 89kg. I'm going to be 70 by April 1st. That's a kilo a week. I was on the Atkins diet for a month and I got super sick on it, but I lost 6 kg. I gained 3 back, and now I've been on Nutrilett for 3 weeks now and I've lost 4 kg. That diet is just working wonders for me. I fit into pants that I haven't been able to wear for over a year yesterday! So I just wondered if anyone wanted to join me in the 1kg a week winter challenge? I'm so motivated, and I want to share it with others and create some kind of fun support system! Helena

I'm on the Swedish diet myself (back to Sweden, biking and walking, instead of driving, and NO fast food joints), but I'd LOVE to lose 1 kg a week! I'll do the best I can with what I have, although the ice melted on the lake so that's out until our next cold spell.

Count me in. I have been doing Atkins for 15 weeks and am down 16 kilos as of today. It would be great to join a challenge to keep on track as the holidays approach. *smile*

Okay, well does anyone have suggestions on how we can go about this? I was thinking maybe starting a livejournal where we can all post or something? Or here? I hadn't thought so far ahead. Ah! I'm soo excited now!

I am up for the challenge. How about we keep a thread here about it? I can make it a password protected forum if we need that.

Hot diggity damn! A thread about eating plans. yeah!
I have also been on Atkins but was afraid to say much about it, because I have insulted by other people (not here) in the past.
I had been on it a year ago and lost 19lbs on it in a 4 months period. I then added in some more carbs though not junk food and due to not exercising I gained most it back.
I restarted Atkins induction a week ago and have since lost 2kg which is about 4.5lbs. During the first 2 weeks one loses quite a bit then it usually tapers off to be about a 1.5-2 lbs a week.

I tried the Atkins diet about 5 years ago and lost 30 pounds. I gained all of it back and then a lot more, so I tried that diet too a couple months ago and in the 3rd week I got soo sick! I was biking to work one day and I thought I was just never going to make it to work, then I made it up to the 2nd floor, looked at my boss and said, "I'm going home", and almost started crying because I got so weak. It all happened in a matter of days. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong and I was so frustrated!! So I just took myself off of it and started the one I'm on now which seems to be doing really well. I'm not sure what happened to me with the atkins diet, because the first time I was on it went pretty well (till I went off it).
sabeine-feel free to join our forum for the challenge if you'd like!

I am doing induction for only two weeks. I know people who have done it for longer, but I want this to work so I will add in lower carb fruit after next week when my two weeks are up. I guess when I think about it, I'm not so much doing Atkins, but a modified version. I cut out all startch, flour, and sugar. I will (after next week) eat fruit, veggies, and meat, poultry etc... It is bascially the processed food that I have cut out. I feel better this way.
I'll be joining the challenge soon, I am off to work now.

Can a late joiner join this challenge. I have my own challenge to work towards losing 60 lbs in 15-18 months. I don't know how many kilos that is. But after that year and a half I am going to see my Swede and well it would be nice to be that much lighter. And does anyone have any recommendations on diets in the US since I tried Atkins and hated it.
My challenge is to lose 60 lbs and to learn how to exercise so I can be an exercise partner for someone who just took 15 months of hard work.
