We have funding for an Assitant for 2004/05 budget for our son. Lets just hope he has the same lady he's known for the last few years. SIGH!
due to his motor skill problems he may be getting a lap top in his classes ... when we don't know ... but it's a resource that's there.
Three Cheers for the school & staff who push these issues.

I'm SO glad for you that you have a school that cares as well. That makes ALL the difference in the world, not to have him swept under the carpet somewhere. Keep us informed, please.

That's great news, Natooke. How wonderful that they are willing to accommodate your child's needs. That is a sign of a caring school environment and I hope that continues.
It is also really important that they recognised that he does need special help. As Carolyn said, it's all too easy to sweep it under the carpet.
See that insight, observation and love that comes from being a mum, combined with your persistence has paid off. Your son is very lucky to live in such a supportive environment.

We got our son’s diagnosis yesterday … ADHD
It was hard to hear the words ... but life is alot more clearer for all of us. It will take some time to digest all of the information & how do you tell your child that they are indeed special ?

Hi Natooke,
While it's very hard to hear that your boy has ADD, you at least now have a diagnosis and that is a godsend. You don't have to let it scare you - after all it is just something he has, it doesn't define who he is as a person. You can now specifically hone in on effective management for him and help him to learn to live life fully. It's always better to know what you are dealing with.
I hope that everything works out for you and your family.

update ;D
Our son will be getting his computer set up within 3 weeks. Considering Xmas is real near ... he'll most likely be working on it after the New Year.
we're so thrilled.
