Congratulations, Debbie! That must be a great relief. I've got my paperwork in at Migrationsverket at the moment as well, so hopefully I'll soon be as Swedish as my name

Thanks to the long trip back to the States, I still have a little under 2 years before I can even apply. Hopefully, they'll have taken care of the backlog by then.

Thanks everyone!
It took 5 months and 3 days. They said about 5 months so they seem to be good at estimating.
In Migrationsverket's defense the woman that was handling my case seemed extremely efficient and was very pleasant when I talked with her. They asked for my passport last Friday, I sent it that day "recommenderat" and I called her on Monday since I am going on a trip at the end of the month. She told me to call back on Friday. When I did she told me "Grattis" that it had been sent back to me on Thursday. So after they asked for the pass....exactly, one week.

By the way...I am blonde already. I just dye my hair this color brown with the grey strands to be different..... AND no one this far south eats that surströmming......we eat rokt ål instead.

Congratulations Debbie! They are pretty darn fast once they ask for the passport.
