What kind of gifts will you all be giving this year?
This year for my brotehr in-law & sambo we'll give Maple syrup with a jar of the dry ingredients to my pancake recipe .... i've printed out the recipe & attached it to the jar. Breakfast for Xmas morning. ;D
Farmor & Farfar will be getting a sack for bird seed, since they live in the woods they enjoy having their fika & watching the birds. The one visitor they get every day is a big male Pheasant (sp)
Of course family members will be receiving school pictures.

Oh! I got school pictures of my nieces and nephews today. It's the best gift ever. Shawls and dvds for the older nieces here, stuffed bunnies for the little girls down the lane, stove and dishes for the youngest niece and a bike for the youngest nephew. Home baked goodies for everyone. My nieces and nephews back home are getting hats, gloves, scarves and porcelain Santa's painted to match their rooms from their auntie. They are orange and white, Precious Moments, Tennessee Titans, camoflauge and one with a leopard print....not a red one in the bunch. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!

For people overseas, I've chosen typical Nynäshamn spices and goodies from a local business. The girl there packed them to my specifications and we also included a couple of typical Swedish Christmas decorations and a Swedish almanac.
In Sweden, I have done the reverse - an Australian guy who works at a big hotel here imports Australian bush spices, oils, macadamia nuts (yum!), honey and teas and I have chosen a selection of those and added a recipe sheet and suggestions for use (in Swedish), then put them in a large gift basket. That is for my sister-in-law and a couple of really good Swedish friends.
For my mother-in-law, we bought a book she wanted plus some Australian natural skin care products, soaps etc. and an Australian wool shawl.
For the kids - well they have wish lists so it was things like a digital camera, train ticket to Malmö (very tempted to make that ONE WAY!), MP3 player, mobile phone - the usual "toys". My nephews wanted computer games so that was easy as well.
I bought a watercolour of the island of Landsort for my husband, some cologne, a ceramic tea-light candle holder of his favourite lighthouse and a book about Shackelton's expedition to Antarctica. I also got him a gift certificate to Clas Ohlsson.
Only one more person to buy for and I'm done.

i have not really sent anything over the pond except for the latest school photos.. i have a bank account here that my mother has access to and she just takes out money to chip in to buy my grandma her presents.. all us 6 kids chip in and get her something she really wants and then we supply her with a years supply of cleaning stuff like tide, toilet paper, and stuff like that.. she is getting older and well she really enjoys seeing what new crap we can throw in.. and besides my mother works at cosco so she gets a good deal. the family over here.. well the kids are easy.. toys and more toys and more toys.. the oldest kid wants dreadlocks so his wish is my command and then in his sock he will have some dvds and cd's. the new love of my life wanted an old nintendo machine so i trucked through halmstad and found him one. not an easy task but i got one.. his family we got them wine glasses and wine and we are not ready with his parents, but his brothers kids.. well toys and toys and toys.. merry xmas to you all

We had a shopping expedition for Christmas pressies while Duka had a 20% off everything offer in Oct/Nov. We bought Swedish glassware items for most of my family back in the UK, an electric peppar grinder for my sister & her hubby, some typical Swedish Christmassy items for her including a cute tablecloth. For our nephew we bought a wooden toy set which fits in with his wooden railway set. Toys are one of the few things that ARE cheaper here. I bought my mum a cooker for her new house and a set of mugs from Duka so she has something to open. For hubby's family we bought some items from Duka and will give them each a photo of our wedding in a nice photo frame (if I can find any here). Not sure what to get hubby but he has suggested an MP3 player. He'd better make up his mind quickly though or it'll be too late ;D
Marie I love all your Christmas present ideas. Those are the kinds of gifts that are real treasures to receive, and very thoughtful.
