A good place for some low carb receipes is www.ichef.comwww.meals.comThese are sites for receipes in general not just low carb. But they have a "search" part and you can type in low carb. It's too bad more low carb products aren't available here in Sweden.

One thing I have learned with eating this way is that there will be the naysayers. Several of my co-workers could never understand why I didn't eat bread when we had lunch. I told them my eating plan and one laughed out loud. The others were a bit skeptical. I guess Atkins isn't so known here in Sweden. Anyway, a few months ago there was an article published here in Aftonbladet about this diet being used in Norway. Norweigan doctors were now suggesting this diet for their overweight patients. The article stated some of the suggested foods, and mentioned Dr. Atkins even though the Norweigan diet is not specifically the Atkins way, although it is low carb. The day after the article came out, my laughed-out- loud coworker asked me "what was that diet you were on again?" She's not laughing now, especially since she's lost 6 kilos. My sambo who was also a skeptic started it and since the beginning of Dec he's lost nearly 20 lbs.

That is awesome! Atkins will be known eventually here... they know about him in Germany so I've heard, so I think Scandinavia isn't far behind. As you mentioned , Norway is catching on! Had strawberries for a snack tonight, 1 cup = 7.2 g! I'm inbetween Induction and OWL. Do you have his new book? "Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution" came out at the end of last year. I got it at Adlibris.se real cheap. Take care, Heather 253-235.8-120 lbs One thing I have learned with eating this way is that there will be the naysayers. No I haven't gotten the newest book. I do have the edition right before it.
I have a few other low carb books as well.
For me it's really about balancing my food. I eat way more protein than carbs, but a few carbs here and there hasn't affected my weight. When I was on induction though then I followed the plan to a T. Now I'm at the Lifetime stage. I've eaten this way for a couple years.
Induction and OWL are the hardest part in the sense of really counting the carbs. Later on you'll see that if you want to have a cookie or a small piece of cake as long as it doesn't become a daily occurance you'll be fine. It's nice to have a plan/way of eating that one can feel good about and still have some variety. Anyone who's tried extreme low calorie diets knows what lack of variety means! This plan is certainly do-able.

I noticed that when I did have a sweet treat not allowed on Atkins, it never shows up on the scale. This morning I weighed in again and lost 2 lbs, so I have lost 20 lbs since Jan 7th Induction and OWL are the hardest part in the sense of really counting the carbs. Another added bonus that many experience is improvements in their skin.
It's kind of strange how this diet is considered "trendy" now, it's been around for a long time. Years ago when I was a kid I remember my Aunt used to skip bread, pasta, and most refined sugar. She only had an occasional cookie, and sometimes some potatoes. Her reasoning for skipping it most of the time was "it'll stick to your hips". She was right on.
