How about an update from you Atkins dieters? I just bought a new copy of the Atkins diet and I think I'm going to give it a shot when I get home. Except for cutting out the knäckebröd, I'm all in favor of any diet that lets me eat meat, cheese, cream and butter! The potatoes will be a bit hard too, since I LOVE potatoes.

I read an article today about how some fast food chains in the US are now starting to have low carb options to fit the needs of those living the low carb lifestyle.
The sandwhich chain Blimpie's is now going to be serving a low carb sandwhich that is as tasty as the others they serve. It will have turkey, roast beef, or ham, as well as veggies, but instead of white bread it will have a whole unprocessed grain bread that cuts the carbs down 75%. The whole sandwhich will have 7-7.5 grams of carbs, which is not much.
Also a burger chain that is popular in CA called, In n' Out Burger will now start to have a low carb burger option. They have not figured out what kind of bun they will have but it will be a grain bun with few carbs, they have even talked about skipping a bun altogether and having the burger wrapped in lettuce. It may sound odd, but once they have decided which to go with, I'm sure it will taste great. They have some of the best burgers I've ever had.
Wendy's Corp. is also working on a low carb alternative. It is nice to see that they are taking this demand seriously.
Apparently the President of Blimpie's (I think it is similar to Subway sandwiches, I am not familiar with it, I didn't see any in CA) had started the Atkins diet and was so impressed by his weight loss, and ongoing maintenance that he came up with the idea of having a lower carb alternative for those that eat this way. It really does not matter if one is following Atkins, the Zone, the South Beach Diet, the Carb Addict program etc..., etc.... there are so many to count. I am just glad to see that some in the fast food industry are starting to acknowledge a lower carb lifestyle.

10 kilos for my husband. 8 for me. Way to go! Are you doing Atkins or some other program? I've lost 20.5 kg so far, and really love being the weight I was back in middle school! Keep up the good work! Heather Atkins since Jan 2003!
